Questions

Answers in plain language.

The questions farmers, buyers, and partners are most likely to ask first.

What exactly is a Bright Green?

A Bright Green is a digital ecological token – a record of ecological work already done and assessed on a group of working farms. It connects a buyer’s purchase to the evidence supporting that work.

Is a Bright Green a carbon credit?

A Bright Green is not a carbon credit, a carbon offset or an Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU), and you can’t use it to offset your emissions or make carbon-neutral claims. It represents all the other ecological improvements that can happen on a farm except carbon — for example biodiversity, water, soil and ground cover.

How do I know the improvement happened?

Each Bright Green carries a PIE Certificate: the evaluation evidence created under the PIE System when its batch was minted. It is permanently attached to the token, and anyone can view it on the blockchain. PIE System scores were assessments made by the original issuer’s evaluators and have not been independently audited. Integrity Earth’s new evaluation method is designed to be more rigorous and transparent, with a view to independent verification over time.

What is FarmEye?

FarmEye is a software application for farmers and their advisers that gives them a working view of the whole farm. It brings production, financial, and ecological information together so farmers and advisers can manage the farm and demonstrate how the land is changing.

How do farmers get paid?

For every Bright Green sold, 72.5% of the net proceeds (what the buyer pays, less transaction costs such as payment fees and any GST) is shared equally among all the farmers in the pool, whichever farm’s batch the token came from. Farmers are paid only when Integrity Earth sells Bright Greens; resales between buyers don’t pay farmers.

What happens in a drought, fire, flood, or difficult season?

Farming conditions vary. Evidence and claims reflect what actually happened on the land during the relevant period. Ecological improvement can continue to take place during and after disasters and difficult seasons, and helps to build shock resilience for the entire farming operation.

Can I buy Bright Greens now?

Yes. You can buy them on the Bright Greens page. Prices are shown in US dollars, and GST is added for buyers in Australia. You need to be over 18, and you read and accept the Bright Green Token Sale Terms before you pay.

Is this a financial product or financial advice?

Everything on this website — including descriptions of Bright Greens — is general information only. Regulatory treatment of ecological assets differs in different jurisdictions and is constantly evolving. Before making any purchase decision, obtain independent financial, legal, and tax advice from advisers licensed in your jurisdiction, and satisfy yourself as to the nature, risks, and regulatory status of any asset.

How is this different from schemes that failed?

Integrity Earth is designed around farm-level evidence and clear explanations of what was measured. Trust comes from the quality and transparency of the evidence, not from a claim that cannot be checked.

I’m a farmer. How do I join?

Start by telling us where you farm, who advises you, and what you want to understand or improve. We will explain the current access pathway and whether the programme is available to you.
